Red Rover, Substitute Management Advisory Council
Enthusiastically new to her role at Red Rover as an Engagement Strategist, Jamie West has been taking the K-12 HR realm by storm for 5+ years. She began her career in K-12 as a substitute teacher in central Florida, before making her way into the world of K-12 HR. Within 18 months with Lake County Schools as a substitute manager, she was quickly promoted to a recruitment role where she elevated efficient hiring processes and captured candidate connections. Jamie coined her recruitment strategy as K-12 “TLC” hiring — which simply focuses on teaching candidates, learning from candidates, and connecting with candidates on a deeper level — leading to success at Lake County Schools during her tenure.
Jamie currently serves as the Executive Director of the Substitute Management Advisory Council, overseeing the annual Substitute Management Symposium, conducting the Substitute Scoop Podcast, and jointly selecting the National Substitute Manager of the Year. She has become a well-known partner of the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA), a spotlight presence in Florida K-12 HR, and a true advocate for all K-12 voices across the country. From hosting webinars, to presenting at conferences, her passion to build community connections are helping drive thought leadership forward across all 50 states.
